Caulking is important! Don't wait until the exterior of your home needs to be painted, thoroughly inspect the caulk from time to time and re-apply as needed to keep tiny amounts of water from doing major damage!

Be careful not to overload your circuits in the winter months with too many space heaters, they draw a lot more electricity than most people realize!

Moths hate Cedar. Keep something that is Cedar scented near your wool items and moths will stay away!
When hanging pictures, towel bars, curtain rods, etc, have some plastic drywall anchors on hand for when there is no wood studs where you need them.
To remove Sharpie or other permanent ink from a wipe off board, simply trace over the permanent ink with a dry erase marker, and wipe off!
Make sure to know where your main water shut off is located. Close and open a few times each year to keep it working.
Look under your sinks periodically and check for signs of leaks. Most leaks are very slow, and can do a lot of damaged by the time they are noticed.
